I'm not by nature an artsy type of person, but I took a picture of my restoration project that made me see the design of the G3 in a different light. This picture of the inverted hull looking from the bow toward the stern just after spending two days wet sanding the gelkote. I think it's really beautiful, although I wish I had the front u-bolt installed before taking the picture.

That is a cool shot Gimp! I never did see Bandit's bottom after it was painted... It went to the paint shop all smooth, but splotchy looking with areas of fairing compound and finish filler. I got it back on the trailer, right side up. So where are you at now?

Thanks, Dean. Glad you like it. The hull is finished except for repainting the black accent panels over the sponsons and u-bolts at bow and transom. The deck is ready to be painted. Since cold weather has set in, both painting projects will have to wait until spring. Over the winter, I'll be working on the metal trim pieces and getting the rewiring done while I can have the deck upside down. When the weather breaks, the paint will go on and I'll move to final assembly. I really, really want to get it into the water before summer 2015 arrives. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey Doug, thanks for the update and shots.
Its a big step getting to the point of painting the hull... a real milestone. And it goes from looking like a leopard to a fine boat! On Bandit it was a day I remember, a lot of the other work kinda melted together... heh. You are at a great launching point when the cold breaks for you.
Good job.
