Hello! I'm rebuilding my open deck Glasspar G3 to a center deck setup and I need some measurements. Is there anyone who can measure the distance between dashboard and center deck for me?

Hi Jnstjerna,
Your English is very good!
On my center deck boat, I have measured 31" between the dash and the forward side of the center deck. And I've also measured 53" from the back of the transom to the back of the center deck.
If I were to have a choice, as you do... I would like the centerdeck to be 2" further aft. When I wear a floatation vest, it rubs on the steering wheel, when I wear an inflatable vest it does not. So in my perfect world, if the seat were set aft 2" further, it would be perfect.

I would like to also convert my open deck to a center deck. Does anyone have any pics of the dividing wall? Measurements of the wall itself? Is there room inside of it to store things like the battery or anything? It will be a fun winter project.

It will be a fun winter project. there is no actual enclosed "dividing wall" its just a U shaped beam with an upright support in the middle, but yes- I have my battery behind the center deck support, and room for 2 portable 6 gallon OMC fuel tanks on either side, plus a little room left over for ski ropes, dock bumpers, first aid kit and other small misc. items. Funny that people that have open decks want a center deck, and people with center decks cut them out to make OPEN decks! HA! |

Folks gotta' figure out that you NEED one of each. An open deck AND a center deck. Just think, if we all adopted one of each, they wouldn't be "orphans" any more!
