Hi Everyone I found this G3 in NSW Australia and planning to do some work on it & get it on the water, Can anyone let me know how I can find out if this is a genuine G3? Also whats the best motor for these boats? Thanks

Yes, it is a G-3, a centerdeck model, built between 1959 and 1961. After that they went to an open deck configuration. A 60 to 90HP motor would be fine, although there are some who have much more power than that. Your model was rated for 40-60HP originally, but many powered them with 65 HP Mercury motors. G'day Rusty, you have a lucky find there, one of a mere 6 or 8 G3s in Oz. Welcome! I believe four were brought out here when the America's Cup sailed off Fremantle, I tracked three and maybe yours is the 4th. Thanks for the info! I bought a 1979 Mercury 70hp for it & looking at restoring both over a period of time, Not easy to find spare parts for the Mercury though!
