Has anyone tried the "new" to me 2 part paint, Alexaseal? I have used Sterling and Awlgrip with some success, roll and tip, but this is claimed to be better without tipping. You do have to add an additive to make it work better. The additive for Pettit, EZy Coat works well, but no as well for me as a 2 part paint works. Kingston

Hey Kingston, I used Alexseal from start to finish, brushed the primer and it was pretty amazing how it lays down and then flattens and really tighten's up. Had planned to go white and ?? but found a company had a sale on a gallon of bronze metallic, Soooo after sobering up and realizing I ordered Spray ONLY paint I faced no other choice but to finish by spraying, but I'm super happy with the results, Visit ALEXSEAL web page Tech. page lots of great info, Also Boatworkstoday on youtube Andy's been to Alexseal training seminar, and he has a recent vid on Alexseals new brushing additive? It's what they use on all WESTPORT YACHTS high quality material, Seattle Fisheries Supply carries most of there products and great shipping too. hope this is helpful... Badger

I've had 2 G-3s painted with Alexseal paint. The first that was a centerdeck that was sprayed by the former owner. My current boat I had the transom redone and I rolled and tipped it along with the sponsons where the gelcoat had worn thin. Great stuff. Very hard finish and holds up well. The centerdeck can be seen in my avatar.

I am doing a clean-up of a 20' Shamrock, hull, deck, interior refinish. also new trim tabs, blower, electrial, exaust and getting all the junk that'd been added. I really like working with the Alexseal products. With epoxy and Axelseal working so well for me I am getting excited to do another G-3, or find a bad Donzi sweet 16 and turn it into a Donzi Baby (outbard). I hope you guys are still working on projects. I don't have to make time for projects now that we have C-19 and I can just work on boats. Thanks for the support on Alexseal. Kingston

Alexseal only seems to have topcoats and not intended for surfaces with constant water exposure, like the bottom. I don't want to use a bottom paint as I am trying to restore to original. Does anyone have experience with Alexseal on the bottom?

Hi Peter L I just finished my G-3 with all Alexseal and am sure they have a solution, as it's been used on Mega$$$ Westport Yachts LLC for years before ever released retail, did check with tech line, topsides fine unless left in water seasonally over several months at a time, my boat will only get to visit a few days at a time.I wasn[t to worried. Badger I live in Westport, WA. and know a former painter of the company who suggested I use it over T.B. and others I asked him about.
G-3 Onnnnn!
