I picked up a G3 in rough shape inside, good outside. No seats or motor, floorboards bad. It appears to have had two buckets facing forward and two facing the stern. Is this an original configuration? Is there a serial number records list where I can find the date of the boat? I think it’s a 1960.

Hi Frank, No such list, but read this page… it tells you what we know about serial numbers. I doubt you have a 1960. These were center deck boats, with only a forward facing bench seat. Open deck boats started in 1962. If you post your serial number, we’d be happy to help you decipher it. g3owners.ddns.net/the-glasspar-g3.htmlDean

Best I can tell is it’s 13A4004. I did see after further reading is it’s a later Open Deck model. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the article. The boat did have carpet and it does have that center sump. Floor is bad and seats are gone. My plan is to put in a new floor overlay, new seats and power it with an electric motor for cruising around a private, electric motor only lake. My boat looks exactly like the black and white Open Deck pictured.
