Neel, I am in the same place as you are. I did not use the Glasspar Al rail. I msde a lot of clamps out of wood and 1/4 inch carriage bolts to hold the deck on the hull while I glassed them together. This put the deck about one inch higher than stock. I am using a rub rail from Tessilmare Sshaeera that I found online, but was able to get locally. It is stainless steel with a one and five eights vinal base. The SS is one inch and I will be using it without the base on the wings. Good luck with your project. Kingston

Thanks for the rub rail info Kingston. I did look it up and I think it may be the answer. I couldn't find it in stainless, only vinyl. Do you have a link to a website where they show the ss version? Thanks,,, Neel

Neel, Type in Tessilmare Sphaera rub rail. You will ger several places to chose from. Jamestown has a good run down on these including the factory video of an installation. I did not find the product in Al, only stainless. I ordered it from Fisheries Supply in Seattle, but you might do better someplace else as I get a discount at Fisheries. Kingston

I have gotten the motor well glassed in and have started working on the kick board under the center deck. Built in fuel tank is 13 gallons and will be on a raised platform so water can pass under it. A little more body work to go on the deck, and then off for paint and motor....

I have completed the body work on the topsides and put a coat of primer on. After the primer was dry, I was able to see several small imperfections that I will address. Then at least one more coat of primer and then off for the Awlgrip paint to be sprayed on.

I have been busy Dean..... I have all of the wiring completed, the steering is in, rub rail installed, and I have been building a storage box for under the seat. The seat base will slide forward electrically to allow access. I put the battery under the bow and had custom cables made. There is also a digital depth finder with water and outside air temperature. I am now working on installing the fuel tank under the center deck. I noticed on one of your posts that you built a Glen-L boat some time ago. I built the Glen-L Gentry and completed it in 2012 after three years of construction. I will post a picture of her here. I have attended four or five of their Gatherings in Tennessee. The next one coming up is September 19th. I will post some G-3 pictures in the near future... Take Care,,,Neel

Neal, I hope the rub rail works for you. I am about to give up and get some help with the painting. My hull is painted AWL Grip Off white my deck and splash well are on and faired in, but I am going to look for someone to AWL Grip the topsides and trim, dark red. I want to be in the water by August. Kingston

Steering has been installed along with wiring and hardware installation. New control cables have been ordered and I am in the process of running the fuel supply line from the tank to the motor. I have installed a Taco rub rail and it looks alright, but not great. A more rigid rail may replace this one sometime in the future. It is durable and should keep Grandson from severely damaging the hull. I should be able to test run it late next week and then it will be heading to Farm Island Lake, Minnesota for years of enjoyment.
